A Role of Younth People Countering Hate Speech by Dhaniel Deva Afrian

 

Freedom of Speech is one of Product Democracy. This system gives us the right to be free to have opinion and expression in the public are, but the words must not violate the rights of others. The right of freedom of opinions and expression are  core of democracy value. The rights are prerequisite to all people can take a role in democarcy system, If people are forbidden to express their opinions, then the country failed to implement democracy system.

Technology is growing fast and changing our lives. People can easly convey their opinions and expression in the public area, only take one seconds people can easly convey it. It is certainly advantageous for the Indonesian, they do not need to go to the government center to express their opinion. 

People can easly convey their opinion in public area but in this era people are often violate other rights. People can easly convey hate speech in social media, invade religious, tribes, and race of others, and also spreading Hoax and defamatory statements. Those actions are realy harm democracy. People think there are convey their opinions but the truth is they only spread hate speech, which the threat in digital democracy.

Hate Speech can threat our democracy and Indonesia’s Diversity. Even those negative actions can bring socials conflict in society. Indonesian youths should be able to become a front liner to prevent hate speech from being commonplace on social media. Indonesian youth must uphold and practice Sumpah Pemuda in their daily lives, so that the nation wont face a problem because of hate speech. Youth must also be active in the inclusive democracy process that not only give criticism to the problem but play an active role in finding and providing solutions to the problem.

            Indonesian youth should fill their social media with positive things, and not engage in hate speech. Indonesia youth should be involved educating society. To stop spread hate speech in public or private area. Indonesia is facing hate speech, so we must prevent hate speech. Indonesian youth is a reflection of the future of Indonesia. Indonesia must be free from all forms of hate speech such invade religious, tribes, and race of others, and spreading hoax and defamatory statements. Let's keep the values of local wisdom : Guyub, so that the seed of intolerance does not spread to the succeeding generations.

Kepentingan Nasional ialah salah satu konsep terpenting di studi Hubungan Internasional, Kepentingan Nasional tercipta karena adanya interaksi antar negara.
